Located 1 km from the small medieval village of Saint-Privat-des-Pres, with it's 11th century church, The Old Barn has been tastefully renovated and furnished to accommodate up 6 people in comfort for a wonderful vacation with it's swimming pool.
Located in the Perigord Vert region of the Dordogne, southwest France, an area renowned for it's wine and culinary specialties, The Old Barn is found beside a quite country road, with large garden, free off-road parking, swimming pool and free WIFI , an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday.
The accommodation on the ground floor consists of a lounge area with 2 sofa's, 1 being a sofa bed, flat screen TV, French/English channels, plus a fire stick and DVD player, a dining area with table and chairs, a kitchen area equipped with an oven and induction hob, a dishwasher, freezer, fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, iron and ironing board. a bathroom with shower cubicle, toilet, hand basin and washing machine.
On the first floor are 2 bedrooms, the front bedroom has a large double bed and en-suite bathroom, with a bath/shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin. The back bedroom has 2 single beds that can be joined together to make a double bed, an en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin.
Outside there is a terrace with a table, chairs, parasol and BBQ and access to the 10 x 5m HEATED (May & September other times on request at extra charge) swimming pool.
For those looking for a more active time, there is walking and cycling around the area, the Laude Golf course is 12 km away. Canoeing is available on the Lake at La Jemaye, 14 km away with a beach, woodland walks, cafe's and a restaurant or at Aubeterre-sur-dronne, where you can canoe up and down the river Dronne, also with a beach, bar and restaurant, this is 9.1 km away.
If your interest is ancient buildings, then also at Aubeterre is the underground troglodyte church, cut into the cliff in the 12th century or visit the Bourdeilles castle's/chateau's, 1 Medieval and 1 Renaissance, 31 km away.
The nearest airport is Bergerac, 60 km 1 hour away or Bordeaux, 103 km 1 hour 30 minutes away.
